Transforming a slow book platform into a fast, user-friendly subscription service

About the company

Leamos is an Argentinian digital platform that gives users access to a full catalog of books and audiobooks. Think of it as a subscription service for literary content: you explore, you pick what you want, and you read or listen without limits.

What did I do in this project?

This was my very first UX job, and honestly the project where I got to put everything I had learned into real practice. The app already existed, and its core idea was straightforward: help people find a book in the catalog and start reading without barriers. But we quickly discovered something that readers absolutely hate: the app was slow. Painfully slow.

While the tech team focused on fixing performance, the product and design team (that's where I jumped in) worked on refreshing the entire experience. We redesigned the app, rethought its structure, and introduced a feature users had been asking for over and over: audiobooks.

Every year Argentina hosts "La Feria del Libro," a huge event with more than 350 publishing stands across three weeks. We went there to run guerrilla testing with over 30 real readers, and it was one of the most exciting research experiences I've had. Their feedback shaped the new product, and later we tested again in person with even better results.

At the end of the journey, we launched the redesigned app and the new website. A big milestone, and a memorable first step in my UX path.
