Building a Car as a Service platform from UX foundations to full visual design

About the company

Wift is a Chilean startup that offers a Car as a Service subscription where, for a fixed monthly fee, people get a car with everything already covered, from insurance and maintenance to circulation permits and taxes. Their model is flexible, letting users switch vehicles or end their plan after a minimum period. They run the whole experience through their mobile app, where drivers can handle fuel payments, parking, safety features like GPS monitoring and even a panic button directly connected to authorities.

What did I do in this project?

This was one of those projects where you get to build everything from scratch, and honestly… that's my favorite kind of playground. I shaped the entire UX foundation of the app: sitemap, user flows, wireframes and asynchronous usability tests through Maze. Once the experience was validated, I moved on to creating the design system and the full visual design of all the screens.

And I'll be honest: even if the final UI isn't the one I personally connect with the most, I genuinely enjoyed the journey. The collaboration with the team was great, the conversations were sharp, and the whole process flowed in a way that reminded me why I love product work so much.

We tackled some really fun flows too, like unlocking and locking your car through Bluetooth, reporting incidents, sending SOS requests, assisted navigation and integrating third-party services. It was a complex product, but the kind that becomes exciting when everyone is rowing in the same direction.
